Zarkana (Cirque du Soleil @ Las Vegas Aria)

Zarkana isn't the most entertaining show ever. There was an act that I thought was really exciting and another that I thought was beyond boring. I like how the singing was live. There was some comic relieve from the two hosts. The pricing is terrible though. Between Cirque du Soleil Love and Cirque du Soleil Zarkana, I pick Zarkana. My girlfriend says should would pick Love again.

Love (Cirque du Soleil @ Las Vegas Mirage)

I know this is more of a movie review blog, but so what? I'm going to put show reviews here too. :P

I did not enjoy this show in Vegas. There was no plot or exciting acts. The music wasn't sung live. It was like they just played a Beatles soundtrack and told a bunch of people just to run around and do stuff. I felt like it was more for Beatles fans or a show for people to get high and then go watch. Would not recommend.

Zero Dark Thirty (2012)

A movie based on finding Obsama Bin Laden. Unlike A Good Day to Die Hard, Zero Dark Thirty spends waayyy too much time on making sense and not enough time exploding things. The last 30 minutes of the film when the soldiers invade the compound did not make up for the more than 2 hours worth of watching people being tortured and interrogated. I was hoping this movie was more like Act of Valor.

Rating = 3 / 5 Stars!

A Good Day to Die Hard (2013)

This movie makes very little sense. The opening chase scene was beyond ridiculous and I had to stop myself from yelling out how stupid it was during the movie. The action is all there if you can throw your brain out of your head long enough to watch the rest of the movie. I wish the new Die Hard movies were like the old ones where Bruce Willis had a sense of fatality and things weren't done to cause huge explosions.

Django (2012)

The movie started off very well. The plot was interesting and Christoph Waltz was entertaining to watch. The pace was excellent until about the 2 hour mark, then I started getting restless. I felt like the movie continued another 30 minutes when it should have ended like a normal movie.

Sinister (2012)

This was my favorite scary movie of 2012... maybe ever, beating out Paranormal Activity (1) for the spot. I like how the trailers didn't spoil this movie for me. I can't say that I knew too much about the movie going it, but I was left feeling creeped out. It was suspenseful and jumpy. I even watched it a second time with my siblings and even know when I was going to get scared, left the movie theater feeling scared.

Rating = 5 / 5 stars!

End of Watch (2012)

Another movie that I didn't get to review last year. I cannot recommend this movie enough! I loved this movie. It was fund to watch two cops bonding and catching bad guys. Great story with an emotional ending. Go watch!

Rating = 5 / 5 stars!

Act of Valor (2012)

I watched this movie last year, but didn't get a chance to write about it. I really enjoyed this movie! It was like someone made the action pack first person shooter, Modern Warfare, into a live action movie. There are no big names in the movie, however it starred real Navy SEALS. The movie has a great pace of action and storyline. It even got me teary eyed at the end.

 Rating = 5 / 5 stars!

Identity Thief (2013)

Identity Thief wasn't as funny as originally expected. Too much was revealed during the trailers and it's not until halfway or third of the way into the movie before you start seeing things you haven't already seen in the trailer. Overall, I should have passed on watching this movie and just rented it instead.

My Rating = 2 / 5 stars.
