Olympus Has Fallen (2013)

An ex-Secret Service agent has to save the President of the United States from North Korean terrorists who have taken over the White House. Think Die Hard in the White House. While the film is exciting and action packed, the plot and weakness of the President make the film less enjoyable. I can't imagine a President so weak and illogical running a nation.

Oz the Great and Powerful (2013)

A prequel to the 1939's The Wizard of Oz. I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I expected. The trailer did a fantastic job of not spoiling anything. The movie was vibrant in color and fun to watch. It isn't necessary to watch The Wizard of Oz before watching this movie, but it is recommended because this movie explains a lot about the characters in The Wizard of Oz and why they became the way they are in the 1939's movie. A must see for Wizard of Oz fans! I gave this movie such a high rating because of the connections and explanations to The Wizard of Oz.

The Call (2013)

A 911 operator tries to help save the lives of female victims who contact her during their kidnappings. This movie turned out better than I expected. I thought the trailer showed too much and that I would be bored knowing what was going to happen most of the time, however the plot gets interesting and a little creepy when you find out the motive of the kidnapper. Although, the characters' decision making isn't logical all of the time, the movie still does a good job of holding your attention. The thorn in my thumb is again the ending. It seemed sloppy and so much more could have been done.

Mama (2013)

A movie about two girls abandoned in the woods, but then found and brought back to civilization. I don't feel like I'm spoiling anything if I tell you guys that this is a ghost movie. The movie started well, but it isn't very scary, at least to me. Vickie thought it was scary and jumped a few times. The reason I gave this movie such a low score is because of the ending, which actually made the audience I viewed it with laugh out loud.

Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013)

This movie is pretty much a sequel and picks up after the events to the original movie, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974). I know it's supposed to be a 3D movie, but I watched it non-3D. To me 3D adds/takes very little away from a movie. There were a couple jumpy scenes via loud noise. Overall, the movie was ok to watch, better than some other scary movies, but not as good as the original (1974) or the remake (2003).

Jack The Giant Slayer (2013)

A movie based on the story, Jack and the Bean Stalk. It was an interesting spin on an old tale. The movie wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. The length of the movie felt longer than it had to be, maybe the makers were trying to give the audience a good value because everyone already knows what the story it about.

Snitch (2013)

This movie is about a father that would do anything to free his son, who got caught with drugs, from prison. Although this movie is based on a true story, it's not very believable. There were a lot of plot holes, too many flaws to recommend the movie. I thought the movie was rather boring. On another note, I don't immediately associate Dwayne Johnson as the WWF's "The Rock" when watching movies anymore, which is a really good thing for his acting career.

The Last Stand (2013)

A movie about a sheriff who protects his small town from a big bad drug dealer. The plot wasn't mind blowing, but it would do for an Arnold movie. The movie started out well.  There was lots of action; however the movie started getting silly near the end. I chuckled out loud a few times because some things were just so dumb, ridiculous, or stupid.
